Silverton to Pichi Richi

We set the target of getting out by 10am and we actually smashed it with a 9:30am departure! The sun came out and it made everything much easier. The campsite actually looked pleasant and with the clouds and mist cleared we realised there was a huge wind farm in the near distance. Of course on the final day, minutes before leaving, the kids made friends with the kids at the neighbouring campsite, and went off clambering the Mad Max tyres and visiting all the various animals.

Mitch trying to get a sound recording of Toto, the aggro emu. It sounds like a beating drum.
The emu then promptly sat down for some reason
Day 5 no shower, yikes! My hair is HECTIC.
Lux manning the apocalyptic fort.
Just some casual gun play 😬
Classic outback dunny, I even checked for a redback spider before sitting down.
Group bush wees always an option
Are we cute or what.
Goodbye, Camel Farm!
The outback pub we SHOULD have had our grub at yesterday (instead of a generic one on main street Broken Hill, but needs must when hangry).
Sleepy pup.
One more cheesy selfie from Mundi Mundi Lookout. Please note: Mitch’s Yahoo Serious hair and Alex clutching wet napkin.
Crossed the state line, woo! Later on at a quarantine station they confiscated our vegetables and fruit 😭
(Very optional) roadhouse fare in Yunta. This is the kind of diner I remember from road trips in the 80s-90s.
Also memory trip! These bars.
And this exact juice which I am pretty sure I subsisted on ages 8-11.
Honestly though most of today looked like this 😴
The girls made up a song to pass the time.

486.9km to cross over to South Australia for final destination of Pichi Richi Park in the Flinders Ranges. This was a recommendation of the Marinos-Cowells and we are so chuffed they have ended up being able to join us for this stint also!

Hurrah!
Sunset over the ranges.
We finally got our inside lighting looking more vibey ✨
This gal has been reading A LOT this trip. I love to see it.
